March 25th is the birthday of our namesake, the real Archie McPhee. Were he still alive today, Archie would be 111 years old.
The Archie McPhee store staff will be celebrating all day long and everyone is invited to join in the festivities. Stop by and enjoy some sweet treats in honor of the man with the unforgettably awesome name.
Spring is finally starting to creep into the air, which means wedding season is also approaching. Our new Horse and Unicorn Wedding Cake Topper is perfect for that "special" couple that wants their wedding to be a wee bit different. This 6-1/4" tall polystone cake topper features our Magical Unicorn Mask and Creepy Horse Mask on a bride and groom. (The bride and/or groom may be blushing, but it's hard to tell because of the masks.)
Max and Whitney Losee shared a picture of their awesome wedding cake with us:
Does anyone have a reason why these two should not be married? Neigh!Max and Whitney Losee for letting us use a picture of their beautiful cake!]
2014 is the Year of the Horse, which makes us even more excited to ring in the new year. Although the Chinese or Lunar New Year doesn't officially begin until January 31st, we'd like celebrate with a little Chap Hop (rapping in a faux-Victorian style) performed by the always awesome Professor Elemental in a video featuring our Creepy Horse Mask:

Archie McPhee has been keeping Seattle Strange since 1983. Time flies when you're having fun and we're about to celebrate our 30th anniversary and we'd like you to join us.
Join us on Saturday, July 13th from noon to 4pm as we celebrate 30 years of fun and frivolity. Our brand new attraction, the Penny Periscope, will be unveiled at 12 o'clock. Then the games (and winning of fabulous prizes) begin! But that's not all. There will also be performances by the band Fez Monkey and photo ops with the Cap'n Archie wooden cutout. And don't miss the official cake-cutting ceremony at 2 o'clock.
It's going to be an unforgettable day of Archie McPhee-style celebration and fun.
We hope you'll join us for it.
The 2013 celebration of the Lunar or Chinese New Year takes place on February 10th. That's less than two weeks away! 2013 is the Year of the Snake, which means we'll be celebrating by enjoying delicious cinnamon Snake Lollipops.
These serpentine treats may look dangerous but, provided you remember to brush your teeth regularly, they're pretty harmless and completely delicious. And this year Snake Lollipops make a perfect Chinese New Year gift or party favor.
萬事如意 "May all your wishes be fulfilled!"
